Top 5 Reasons to Visit Gold Coast Australia
There are so many more than 5 good reasons to visit the Gold Coast in Australia.
I believe you only ever need one good reason to do anything!
First, a bit of background, in case you don't know. The Gold Coast is in the South East corner of Queensland, right on the border with New South Wales.
The Gold Coast is most famous for Surfers Paradise, skyline and beach. But the Gold Coast is way more than that.
#1 - Australia's Theme Park Capital
Holiday heaven for families. You can spend a week just doing the theme parks. Choose between Sea World, Movie World, Dream World, Wet n Wild and White Water World.
#2 - Gold Coast Beaches
Everyone's heard of Surfers Paradise, well almost everyone. There are some other stunning beaches on the Gold Coast, with some excellent spots for families, kayakers and surfers to name a few!
# 3 - 600 Plus Accommodation Options
I defy you to say that you cannot find suitable accommodation in the Gold Coast! There are camping grounds, cabins, hotels, resorts, backpackers, golf resorts, mountain retreats, health spas, bed and breakfasts, apartments and houseboats. Surely there will be something for you!
#4 - Gold Coast Weather
There was a tourism campaign that used to say - Queensland. Beautiful one day. Perfect the next. Now, is that true? Well, of course it isn't always bright blue skies and warm weather. But I've lived in many places and this one is my favourite by far when it comes to the weather. The best thing is that there still so many things you can do on the Gold Coast if the weather isn't perfect!
#5 - Gold Coast Whale Watching
The Gold Coast is fast becoming the humpback whale watching capital of Australia perhaps even the world! We are so blessed because the humpback whales visit us twice during their migration each season. Once on the way up to their breeding grounds and the second time on the way back. The whale watching season in the Gold Coast starts at the end of May and runs through to early November each year. Best viewing on whale watching tours is from 1 June to 31 October.

I can see where your passion lies! Yes golf could easily make the list with all the amazing golf courses on the Gold Coast. Perhaps I need to look at top 10 reasons! There just are so many great things about the Gold Coast!

Beautiful one day, perfect the next sounds great to me, while watching humpbacks. I'm an Aussie from Melbourne but I'm living in NY USA. One day I'll get to the Gold Coast.

I hope you do make it to the Gold Coast! Right now it is whale watching season (June through to late October) and last week the famous white albino humpback whale called Migaloo came through the Gold Coast causing quite a stir! He was frollicking with friends! Hopefully we will see him again when he comes back this way to head home for the summer!

Fantastic list of reasons to visit our home. I know there are a lot of other reasons why people should visit the Gold Coast, but golf is without doubt my number reason for living here! Hope you can add it to your list as well.
