Accomodation Surfers Paradise

Sorting out your accomodation in Surfers Paradise could be one of the hardest parts of planning your Gold Coast holiday, quite simply because there is so much choice.

With just over a dozen hotels in Surfers Paradise, that doesn't sound so bad? But when you consider that self contained apartments are a popular option for holiday accommodation in Surfers this adds in over 100 more options!

As a visitor the hardest part is sifting through all the options to find something that fits your requirements.

Do you want:

• Family friendly accomodation?
• Cheap or budget accomodation?
• Long stay accomodation?
• 1, 2 or 3 bedroom apartments?
• Do you have a budget you need to keep within?
• Do you have a preference for the star rating, facilities or comfort level in your accomodation?
• Do you want a resort with an indoor pool or tennis court?
• Or perhaps you are looking for accomodation on that famous Surfers Paradise beach?

These are all valid questions that seem straight forward, but actually can be quite hard to find in the usual Surfers Paradise accomodation guides or directories. I know because I had exactly that problem every time I tried to book accomodation in Surfers Paradise when we holidayed here before moving to the Gold Coast in 2004.

In doing my research for my own accomodation Surfers Paradise guide I found that I had to scour hotel and apartment websites, brochures, visit or phone to get the actual information about each I was looking for. I have done alot of the ground work and hope to have answered many questions.

Everyone has their own preference for how they pick accomodation wherever they visit, personally I look for quality and value. For me I start with star ratings and rarely go below 4 stars, but there can be exceptions to that.

For example, if travelling with young children and wanting a truly family friendly resort in Surfers Paradise I would certainly look at the 3½ star Paradise Resort with it's incredible child friendly facilities and kids club.

After I have narrowed down the search on star ratings I then pick between hotel or apartment based on room configurations, price, location and facilities. If I am staying for a longer time, I will want more room and sanity space away from the kids! Therefore apartments are often a good choice for families. But hotels can work if you are only staying for a day or so.
